Agrothrin Foodstuffs Protectant Dust is formulated on nature’s own insecticide - pyrethrum. The active ingredients (pyrethrins) are obtained by finely grinding pyrethrum flowers.
Pyrethrum powder is a 100% natural insecticide. The active ingredient in Agrothrin is manufactured from the dried flowers of Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium that are ground to produce a fine powder. Agrothrin contains pyrethrum powder produced from specially selected high altitude plantations in Kenya that have consistently produced high quality flowers. The technical material is mixed with food purity inert compounds to product a natural, pure and completely organic insecticide. The high level of insecticidal activity of this compound is then enhanced or synergised by the addition of 1% piperonyl butoxide on a w/w basis.
Agrothrin Foodstuffs Protectant Dust is an exceptionally safe insecticide for the control of all types of insect pest, but it is packed and labelled for the protection of grain, seeds and potatoes. It can also be used: in the home against:
- roaches, silverfish and other pests in the kitchen
- bedbugs and other biting insects
-fleas and lice from domestic animals
in the garden and on crops against:
- aphids
- caterpillars on ornamental and food crops
in public health, in hospitals, Municipal tips etc.
Agrothrin Foodstuffs Protectant Dust is a broad spectrum insecticide yet biodegradable and does not present an environmental problem by entering the food chain.
Active ingredients:
pyrethrins (six insecticidal esters obtained from the flowers of Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium) 0.11% w/w
piperonyl butoxide (5-[2-(2-butoxyethoxy)-ethoxymethyl]-6-propyl-1,3-benzodioxole) 1.1% w/w
