Love it. We have the door open all the time as the dog goes in and out. Set it up and in less than a minute it had zapped 2 flies. It has also caught loads since. It also got a couple of moths. It says it does not do fruit flies it has got a few but its not great for them. I would definitely recommend

This can be used free-standing, wall-mounted or ceiling suspended. Please place in a shaded area of the room away from direct sunlight to be more effective.

No, you would be better with the glue board type. The smaller insect will stick to the glue board.

Does this machine kill the small black house flies that invade in the summer.
These are designed to kill common houseflies but for smaller midge flies then a glue board type would be better.

I have got one of these and need to change the starters. I was surprised to see that the starters that were fitted originally are 110-130v. I expected something in the region of 220-240v. Please could you let me know the correct starter that I should be fitting. Thank you

No, the LED Bulbs are not suitable with the standard Fly Killers.
How do you change the starter on the fly catcher?
Before attempting to change the bulbs, ensure the unit is switched off and unplugged from the power supply, and the unit is left to stand for 40 minutes.
Remove the catchment tray and carefully lay the unit face down on a flat surface so the power cable shows from the rear.
Remove the two screws and mesh securing washers from the top rear of the mesh.
Remove the bottom two screws from the black plastic side furthest away from the power cable. Important only remove the bottom screws leave the top two in position.
Remove the rear mesh which will expose the two bulbs. Then the starter.
Carefully insert the new starter and twist into position.
Carefully place the rear mesh back into position ensuring the top section of the mesh is pushed under the top section of the unit.
Insert the two screws and mesh securing washers into place.
Insert the two screws into position on the bottom section of the black plastic side.
Insert the catchment tray and the unit is ready to use.
Remove the catchment tray and carefully lay the unit face down on a flat surface so the power cable shows from the rear.

I’ve removed the mesh on the back of the fly catcher as suggested but do not see the starter in order to exchange it. Is there another process I need to complete to see the starter as I’ve changed the bulbs and it’s not working.
The starter is positioned behind the UV tubes.
How do you access the starter motors? They are completely inaccessible. Have tried replacing bulbs, checking fuses and the 2 month old unit is dead. Starter motors are my last resort.
Before attempting to change the starters, ensure the unit is switched off and unplugged from the power supply, and the unit is left to stand for 40 minutes.
They are in the centre of the silver section at the top. The only way to access the starter motors is to remove the side screws to remove the black plastic end and then slide the top piece of metal off. The earth wire prevents sliding off and will need to be detached first.

Unfortunately wasps are not attracted to the light from these bulbs.

The main frame of the unit is silver aluminium and the side casing is a black fireproof ABS plastic.
I see this device is fitted with a fuse. What is the type and where can I get replacements?

Essentially, the Prozap and RapidZap do the same functions. The Prozap is a 30 watt unit covering an area up to 100 square metres. The RapidZap is a 45 watt unit and covers up to 120 square metres.

The flies are attracted to the UV tubes and get zapped by the killing grid and land in the tray at the bottom.
