Keep Your Home Warm for a Fraction of the Cost of a Normal Heater
Keeping warm, especially in the cold winter months, isn’t a luxury – it’s essential. Therefore, it makes sense to try and keep your heating bills as low as possible so you can keep yourself comfortable without having to worry about how much it costs. Keeping yourself warm doesn’t have to cost the Earth – you just need to be smart about it! Investing in a smart radiator could keep you warm all year long for a fraction of your current heating costs, so we’ve put together all the information you need to know about these revolutionary panel heaters below.
MYLEK’s revolutionary Smart radiator combines ease of use with unbelievably intelligent design and incredibly efficient performance. You can control the radiator using the simple buttons on the unit, with your voice using Amazon Alexa and Google Home, or from anywhere in the world using the free WiFi app. The revolutionary ceramic heart inside the radiator generates heat and then stores it, meaning it’ll still give out a lot of heat around the room even after it’s switched off! In fact, after being powered on for just a minute the MYLEK Smart Radiator will heat your entire room for a whole hour.
The benefits of this are obvious; you’re using 60 seconds worth of electricity as opposed to 60 minutes, but you’re still feeling the heat. But how does it all work? Read on – we’ll answer the most common questions about smart heaters.
How does this smart radiator heat up my room?
Once it’s powered on, the advanced ceramic heating element (known as the ‘heart’) inside the radiator heats up. This both generates heat and stores heat at the same time. The heater then switches off once the temperature reaches a certain point (or if you turn it off manually), but it’ll continue to radiate the heat that’s already stored inside the ceramic heart. This means you’ll still be kept warm even though the unit isn’t using any power! The MYLEK Smart Radiator has a 100% aluminium plating, so it conducts heat really well and radiates it around the room. The ceramic heart will begin heating again when it needs to in order to keep your room at the exact temperature you like it.
How many temperature settings does this smart radiator have?
Unlike older radiators, the MYLEK Smart Radiator has a fully programmable thermostat so you can set the temperature to whatever you like, down to the degree! It also has a 7-day, 24-hour programmable timer so you can program your radiator to turn on and off whenever you want. This makes it ideal for businesses as well as homes, as you can program your heater to switch off in an evening or on weekends when it’s not needed.
How much could I save with a smart radiator?
The MYLEK Smart Radiator is incredibly efficient and uses less than 1p of electricity per hour. This means this little panel heater will have paid for itself in as little as 66 days! For more information and prices, check out the MYLEK Smart Radiator in our store.
Is this heater big enough to heat up large rooms?
The actual unit isn’t that big, but size isn’t everything! There are several different models of MYLEK Smart Radiator, with power ranging from 0.6kw to 2kw to suit virtually any size room. This means a 2kw radiator will be able to comfortably heat a room of up to 20m². As a rule, it’s advised that you need 100w of power for 1m² that you want to heat, so bear this in mind when deciding what size you want (although this number can vary slightly depending on how well insulated your room is).
Can I control multiple smart radiators separately?
Yes! They’re designed to be used across a whole home, so you can use the radiator control app to adjust each radiator’s heat settings remotely from anywhere in the world. You can also group radiators together, so if you have multiple radiators in one large room, you can control them all together or separately – you’re always in control.
Does this smart heater use oil or heating chemicals?
No, the heating is all done electrically. This means there’re no creaking or popping noises which other radiators make as the oil inside them heats up. In fact, the Mylek Smart Radiator is completely silent!
Is the MYLEK Smart Radiator safe to use in my bathroom?
Yes. The MYLEK Smart Radiator is IP22 certified, meaning it’s safe to install in bathrooms as it’s protected from dripping water.
What’s the range of the radiator control app?
As long as both you and your radiator are connected to WiFi, you can control and monitor your radiator from anywhere in the world. Whether you’re in your front room or in Australia, it doesn’t matter! You can still control your heater and monitor how it’s working. This means you can set your radiators going as you leave work, and by the time you arrive home, your house will be toasty warm!
You can also use Amazon Alexa or Google Home to control your radiator using your voice, although as always, you’ll need to be in earshot of your Alexa or Home unit for this to work.
Do I need to buy any extras for the app, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home to work?
No! The app is completely free and there’s also no need to purchase a hub, gateway, or any other bits and bobs for your heater to work. Unlike with many other smart heaters, there are no hidden costs here so you can use all the MYLEK Smart Radiator’s features right out of the box.
I don’t have a smartphone, Amazon Alexa, or Google Home. Can I still use the Mylek Smart Radiator?
The Mylek Smart Radiator comes with easy-to-use face buttons so you can operate it easily even if you don’t have a smartphone or a virtual assistant.
I’m not good with technology. Is this smart radiator easy to use?
Yes! As with all MYLEK products, the Smart Radiator comes with no-nonsense instructions written in plain English. The app is also very easy to use, with everything clearly labelled and spelt out. If you’re comfortable using a smartphone at all, or if you have Google Home or Amazon Alexa, you’ll be just fine. If all else fails, you can just use the face buttons as you would with a normal radiator and still feel the benefit of amazing eco-friendly heating.
