Can the Swan 10 litre urn be used without the drip tray, for example to fill large teapots or is the drip tray not detachable? i.e. is this urn only suitable for filling cups?
The drip tray is detachable.
How long does this urn take to heat up to a usable temp when full of cold water please?
It takes around 40 minutes to heat from cold.
could this item be run off a2.2kw petrol generator
The power consumption when boiling (ie the maximum) is 1.6kW, so could be powered by a 2.2kW generator.
Is this urn to be filled by hand or can it be plumbed in to be supplied buy cold water supply pipe?
This unit is a manual fill water boiler, not a plumbed in version.
What is it like on electric, How much would It use If left on all the time.
These units are far more energy efficient than standard kettles as the water holds the heat far longer due to the amount of water; resulting in the urn boiling less times.
I'm interested in your 10-litre urn, but it does not appear to have a water-level indicator, while your 8-litre one does. I'd like to be able to see the water kevel without having to lift the lid off. Please advise as I want to get an urn in early Janua
The thermoplastic urn will be fine and is very long lasting.
I wnt a urn that does not make any noise when it is maintaining the temperature?
There will always be some noise as the urn boils up.
Does the urn have a lead and plug to connect to electric socket ?
Yes the urn comes with an attached lead and plug.
Hi, is the Urn insulated? (will you get burnt if you touch the exterior metal?)
This unit is not insulated therefore it is hot to touch.
I need an urn that does not steam currently we have one and the steam ends up condensating our property and condensation drips off walls to floor, does the unique style vented lid solve this?
The lid stops the room from being filled with steam, as long as it is placed on the unit correctly.
does it have a manual reboil button. my last urn reboiled automaticly but also had this manual reboil function aswell
No this unit does not have a reboil button. Product code 227520 has a reboil button.
Is this Swan urn the same as the Mylek model MYSS10 Quick code 228102 which I bought from you 12 months ago ?
It looks exactly the same but re branded as Swan.
We have had no end of trouble with it, having to reset it regularly, we have descaled it on a r
The Mylek and Swan 10L Catering Urns are not the same urn. They are different. The latest new and improved Swan 10L urn features any energy-saving keep warm function, extra durable concealed element and a unique fitted lid to prevent condensation from escaping and reducing the noise when boiling.
If you are taking the urn to somewhere without a power supply e.g. football match, how long will the tea keep hot.
Depending on the external temperature, the water would stay warm for approximately 40 minutes. Unfortunately, if there is no power supply for the 'reheat' function, the water will go cold relatively quickly.
Hi We are looking for a urn, do you provide a yearly servcie with the urns you supply
Unfortunately we do not provide any services for maintenance.
Exactly how quiet is it. We have a 20ltr urn for use at our B&B but it is so noisy when heating up it is quite noticeable therefore I would like to replace this new urn with a much quieter one?
Although the water boiler will make some noise when boiling up the water, the vented lid is designed to cut down on excessive noise when boiling.
Hi. Will this urn run off a
1200W inverter generator 230V.
Unfortunately, this urn will not run on a 1200W inverter generator. It requires 1600W to boil the water.
Does the urn have a filter?
No, this urn does not have a filter. We would recommend you to descale the urn regularly to avoid limescale build up.
Can the outlet be changed (by fitting a tee piece) so that the urn can supply 2 outlets?
We would not recommend you to do this as it would invalidate the Manufacturer\'s warranty.
Hi! Is it possible to get european blug in for this product?
Unfortunately we do not stock this product with a European plug.
Does this urn have a failsafe boil dry device
This urn does have a safety boil dry cut out function.
Ask a question?
Once the water has boiled and the urn switches to the 150w 'keep hot' mode, would there be any chance of it going back up to 1600w (if no more water is added or the lid removed)?
I basically have a 2kw supply which is mostly used up elsewhere but hoped I could get this boiling first and then just leave it all day on the 150w mode.
Once the water temperature drops, the urn will boil back up to temperature, using the 1600W.
