Product information

The NEW ECOHEATER Slimline Greenhouse & Shed Heaters are one of the most energy efficient ways of providing low-cost ambient heating and frost protection and preventing dampness and condensation in a range of outbuildings,  greenhouses, cold frames, sheds, garages and conservatories.

The heaters are designed to use far less electricity than fan heaters and are cleaner than paraffin heaters. Energy usage is kept to a minimum with a built-in thermostat which switches the heater off when the surrounding area gets too warm.

The heaters are IP44 compliant ensuring a resistance to sprinkled water which makes them safe to use in a wide range of environments – including grow tents.

The space-saving design makes the heaters suitable for use where space is at a premium, with the units able to be operated either wall mounted or floor standing. Each heater is supplied with a 2m push-fit power cable with plug.

Features:

  • Safer and lower cost alternative to an electric fan heater whilst being cleaner than a paraffin heater
  • Built-in thermostat which minimises energy usage
  • IP44 rating for water resistance means the heater is unaffected if sprinkled with water when watering plants
  • Available in 3 sizes – 500mm (55W), 1000mm(120W) and 1500mm(190W)
  • Supplied ready to use with 2m plugged cable and bracket for wall mounted or floor standing operation
  • Manufactured in high quality seamless tube with easy-clean, green enamel finish
  • Automatic heat sensitive cut-out
  • Fully CE certified – and BS EN 60335/1:2002 compliant
Please note: When the heater is switched on for the first time, small wisps of smoke may drift from the heater. This is a perfectly normal part of the first time operating procedure and should cease after the heater has been operating for approximately 5 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Can the heater be switched on the unit or is the only way to switch it off at the socket?
If you are wanting to totally shut off the heater this would have to be done at the socket,
alternatively you can turn the thermostat right down meaninmg this would only come on once the temperature drops below what you have set it too.
I am looking a the ECOHEATER and wonder what size I should purchase for an 8ft x 6ft greenhouse the 500m, 1000mm or 1500, what would you recommend ?

You would be looking at 2pcs of the 1500mm size.

What are the electrical outputs of each heater unit in watts ? Also my potting shed, which is half glass half wood construction is 3m x 2m and is insulated with bubble wrap. Which heater would you recommend for protecting plants from winter frost ?
The energy output on this heater is 55 watts. This product is perfectly safe to use in a potting shed but if there is any chance of anything falling onto the tubular heater, we would recommend you to fit a guard over it.
I have a 6 x 4 greenhouse and just need it to be frost free. Which tubular heater would i need.
If the measurements are in metres, we would recommend using two of this size tubular heater, placing each one at either end of the greenhouse, to protect all areas from being frost free.
Hi. Have 2 x rabbit hutches in a 8 x 6 ft wooden shed. Will this be safe to use in there. Thanks.
It would be suitable for a wooden shed, but we would advise you to install it where pet fur cannot fall onto the surface, as the surface temperature of these tubular heaters gets extremely hot. A guard is also recommended.
