Never use in areas that the unit is left unattended and not emptied on a daily basis. For safety reasons.

I'm sure I read somewhere that due to the brightness of a conservatory that i would need a 40w fly killer. Could you please confirm if this is the case.

No, if your conservatory has too much natural light then the flies will not be attracted to the fly killer.

A Fly Killer must always be located in a shaded area of the room.

Where is machine made

They are manufactured in China and then they are imported to the UK. They are CE certified.

What is the noise level as it zaps the insects - does it crack or buzz??

Yes, they make a loud buzz when the flies are zapped.

I need one, but I heard effectiveness depends on (cycles per second, in UV-A fly light traps. How many cycles per second does yours operate on?

No, UV fly killers do not inherently work in cycles; they use a continuous UV light to attract insects, which are then killed by an electric grid or glueboard.

Is the fly killer free standing

Yes, it can be used free-standing, wall-mounted, or suspended from the ceiling.

Looking at the zapper from the front, does the power cable come out from the left or the right side?

The power cable comes out on the right-hand side.

Usually how long the tubes can last for? Is it free change within a year if the tubes are broken?

It would depend on how often the fly killer is used for, as to how long they last. The tubes are classed as a consumable so would not be replaced free of charge. We would recommend to change them every year for optimum performance, but they may need replacing before then.

Is this any good with killing mosquitoes?

This would not be very effective at killing mosquitos. However, we would recommend product code 257548.

How long is the cable on this unit please?

The cable is 1.5m long.

Is it very expensive to run?

As it only uses around 40W, no. If you leave it running 24 hours a day it will cost between 10-14p a day depending on your energy supplier.

Hi What’s the gap of the outer safety cage bars please. Would they allow Queen wasps to enter?

The gap on the safety cage bar is approximately 7-9mm. and not enough for a queen bee to enter.

Hi Thank you for your previous reply. Unfortunately you misread my question as there is no way I’d aim to kill a queen bee, quite apart from the fact she’d be with her swarm (and thankfully no bumble bee would ever fit in one of these). I was asking if it would kill queen wasps when they’re scouting for a nest site. I had an old one in my attic for many years but it’s packed up and needs replacing. Is your 7mm to 9mm specific? ie there are varying gaps that range between 7mm & 9mm or are they all an unknow

We would not recommend our fly killers to used in the attic. The distance between the grills is for safety reasons.

This comes with a plug with a cable is 1.5m long.
